1. Preparation
Before installation, please make sure that the model and size of the selected sealing strip match your refrigerator cold storage door. Prepare tools such as screwdrivers (for removing and fixing screws), detergents (for cleaning door frames), dry towels (for wiping door frames and sealing strips), scissors or blades (for cutting sealing strips, if necessary) as needed. Before installation, please make sure that the refrigerator cold storage is powered off and unplug the power plug to ensure safety. Use detergent and dry towel to clean the surface of the door frame to ensure that there is no dust, oil and other debris to ensure that the sealing strip can be firmly attached.
2. Removal of old sealing strips (if already present)
Choose the corresponding removal method according to the fixing method of the old sealing strip (such as screw fixing or adhesive fixing). If it is screw fixing, use a screwdriver to gently unscrew the screws, and then remove the old sealing strip from the door frame. If it is adhesive fixing, carefully peel off the old sealing strip by hand or tools, and be careful not to damage the surface of the door frame. After removal, check whether there is any residual adhesive or dirt on the surface of the door frame, and clean it with detergent and dry towel.
3. Install the new sealant strip
Compare the new sealant strip with the door frame to ensure that the size and shape match exactly. If the new sealant strip is too long, use scissors or a blade to cut it to the actual length required. Make sure that the cut sealant strip can fit the door frame completely without gaps or distortions.
If it is screw-fixed, align the holes of the sealant strip with the screw holes on the door frame, and then tighten the screws with a screwdriver.
If it is adhesive, tear off the protective film on the back of the sealant strip, and then fit it section by section according to the shape of the door frame to ensure that it fits tightly and there are no bubbles.
After installation, carefully check whether the sealant strip is flat and fits tightly on the door frame.
If it is found to be uneven or there are gaps, you can use your fingers or plastic cards to gently press and adjust to ensure that the sealant strip fits the door frame completely.
4. Test the sealing effect
Gently close the refrigerator cold storage door to ensure that the door can be completely closed without gaps. You can use paper or your hand to gently test the sealing of the door gap. If the paper or hand can easily pass through the door gap, it means that the sealing effect is not good and the sealant strip needs to be readjusted.
You can also put a cup of water in the refrigerator and observe the evaporation of water after a period of time. If the evaporation of water is not obvious, it means that the sealing effect is good.
5. Subsequent maintenance
Regularly check the status of the sealing strip to ensure that it is not aged, deformed or damaged.
Use detergent and dry towels to regularly clean the sealing strip and door frame surface to keep it clean and dry. If the sealing strip is found to be aged, deformed or damaged, it should be replaced with a new one in time to ensure the sealing effect.
